Official Standards Comparison: Temperament
For this comparison, we chose the Golden Retriever, a breed associated with friendly adaptable temperament.
American Kennel Club
The AKC definition of the temperament of the Golden Retriever is:
"Friendly, intelligent, and devoted".
Golden Retrievers are eager-to-please family dogs that are mostly gentle with children, friendly to strangers, and accommodating to other animals. Golden Retrievers have a calm, biddable nature, with a great desire to please.

The FCI standard describes the breed's temperament including:
